- [Instructor] In the video entitled, "Understanding File Formats," we discussed the differences between a taster file and a vector file, and learned that vector objects are made up of lines that have start and end points, also called nodes. As we've seen in a previous video, these lines go to making up basic shapes that become the building block of your design. In this video, we'll be looking at a couple of different toolbars that will allow you to easily create some of these basic shapes. Let's start by bringing out the toolbars. First, we have the rectangle tool. Followed by the ellipse tool. And then finally, the shapes tool. So let's deal with the rectangle tool first. Clicking on the rectangle tool allows me to left click and drag and create a rectangle. If I hold the Control key down, left click and drag, we'll create a perfect square.
