Unfortunately, when you search around for the definitions of and comparisons of continuous delivery and continuous integration and continuous deployment, you get plenty of conflicting views about the only thing that everybody can really agree on is that they're all continuous. So here's what we're going to do. I'm going to give you my definitions, which are influenced by the developer community and my own experience with living in all three paradigms for more than 15 years. This is the definition I'll be using throughout this course. So you can count on some consistency, at least while we're here right now in this course. And when you're done with this course, you can go out and you'll be free to adapt and adopt whatever everybody else thinks, but at least you'll have a strong foundation.
