- [Instructor] The keyboard is perhaps the original computer peripheral, providing input after scientists grew weary of throwing switches and rewiring hardware. keyboards use the USB standard traditionally connected to a USB port on the computer's rump. Avoid using the front USB ports, which are best for devices you attach and remove frequently, such as a thumb drive. A wireless keyboard requires a wireless dongle inserted into a USB port or the keyboard can use the PC's Bluetooth wireless connection. Remember that wireless keyboards require batteries. It's possible to connect two or more keyboards to a computer. It reads all the computers equally.
