- In this WebSafari, we're going to explore privacy regulations that you need to know on the Security X Exam, starting with the ever popular GDPR of the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation, Europe's relatively new data privacy and security law, which has, well, hundreds of pages. So it's a tough privacy and security law around the world. It was basically passed by the EU to impose obligations onto organizations anywhere as long as they target or collect data related to people in the EU and also any protectorate of the EU. So if you do business, let's say, with Iceland, you are subject to the GDPR's firm stance on data privacy and security. So that's the GDPR. We'll reference this several times throughout our training as we go through. Something that California has that's kind of similar to the GDPR is their own CCPA, the California Consumer Privacy Act, giving consumers more control over the personal information that businesses collect about them.
