- All right, we're ready for the last episode of this chapter, security monitoring. Now, we've talked about monitoring in general, but what are we monitoring for? What do we expect to happen? Well, it's security, so we expect something that's not secure to happen, right? (laughs) And what this means is we need to understand those happenings, those events. So, we're going to talk about attack types. Now, there are many different attack types, and one of them, we've alluded to already in the chapter, vulnerability exploitation. So, I won't revisit that. We've already explained that, human error and outdated software. Another one is software or human direct-based methods of manipulating people, social engineering.
