- One of the key things that all of this virtualization and containerization discussion is about is making sure that you effectively optimize your workload, which means that you're putting the workload in the right place for the right reason, for the right use. And particularly in pay-as-you-go cloud or even prepaid cloud, you are making sure that you're not overpaying. You're using the right solution for your needs and getting the best bang for your dollar. So let's talk about this optimization, first of all, with compute resources. Key things to look at are things like the virtual machine settings, and this would be things like the virtual CPU and memory. So how powerful do you need that CPU to be? Does it need to be single core, multiple core? What speed capabilities does it have? And then how much memory do you need the virtual machine to have?
