- One of the great things about being a nerd in today's society is that we have all of these wonderful graphical user interfaces. I've got Windows in my Windows desktop, I've got beautiful macOS screens. Even Linux with their desktops are absolutely amazing. I just take my mouse and click on stuff and I can open programs and delete files and format hard drives and do all kinds of stuff. However, my friends, deep inside every operating system on Earth is an alternative way to get your computer to do stuff called the command-line interface. The command-line interfaces conceptually are very old, but they've been kept as up to date as any GUI.
