- Working on a help desk, you'll quickly learn that ticketing systems are a big part of the job. Without them, we couldn't capture all the information we need to prioritize the task tickets and resolve their respective problems. So let's dig into a common open source ticketing system that you would be able to implement in your environment right away. What we have here is osTicket. osTicket is a help desk and support ticketing system that is open source and completely free for anybody to download, install, and begin use immediately. And it is also a great way for us to get hands-on with the ticketing system, which is on the CompTIA A+ objectives. You can see we've got some user information here and possibly also a short description of the problem.
