- [Instructor] Let's now take the example of the European AI Act, which is the very first AI regulation in place, and a reference for all the regulatory initiatives around the world. The first draft of the AI Act was released in 2021, and since then there have been a series of discussions, iterations, amendments, and adjustments for updating the initial graph to model topics such as generative AI and foundation models. The final approval arrived recently after the so-called Try Logs, which are a discussion and negotiation process between the main European bodies such as the European Union, the Council, and the Parliament. The key aspects of the European AI Act are first the approach based on predefined level of risk, depending on the type of AI use case.
