- [Instructor] Once your application is operational, you have to manage the health of that application. You're going to have to anticipate when there's going to be issues, operational events. And some of these may be planned, it may be maintenance, there may be windows for actually carrying out maintenance. Maybe there's going to be certain times where there'll be additional use of the application, end of month, on the weekend. So you have to look at all of these aspects of your application, and say, "How am I going to get the information back to make the right decision?" So one thing that you'll have to do is craft the metrics and alarms based on the outcomes that you expect, 'cause after all, this application has to have some payback for the business, and we want to ensure that it can handle what's expected of it. Once I craft my metrics and define my alarms, I let them go to work, so to speak. And when there are issues, I'll take a look at the results, and say, 'Can I get some…
