- [Instructor] This video, we're going to do a quick tour of the user interface, so that later on in the course when I tell you to do something, you'll know exactly where to go. Now, when you first open up Tableau, this might be your starting screen. In the middle, there's a big white space at the moment, but this is where all of your previously opened and saved workbooks are going to appear. So that's going to show your recent history. You'll be able to click on one of those, and then that will open up the previous workbook. On the left-hand side is the Data Connection pane. This is what we're going to use to connect to some data. It lists the type of data we can connect to, whether it's a file or whether it's on a server. If you're using Tableau Public, it would also include things like databases as well.
