- [Instructor] By far, the most requested feature for Tableau for a long, long time was dynamic parameters. Well, what is a dynamic parameter and why are they so useful? Well, let's look at an example of using a parameter to highlight data. And in this example, I'm looking at my products. I've got 1800 products, and we're looking at them across the sales and the profit with the size based on the quantity of each product sold. Now, what I want to know is what relationship the subcategories have with each other. I want to be able to highlight a particular subcategory within all of those data points. Now, I could filter on subcategory, but that's going to remove data. So I definitely don't want to do that. I could put subcategory onto the color, but we've got a lot of subcategories, which means a lot of colors. And even though I could click on the legend on the right-hand side and highlight some of them, it's still far too colorful for what I want. What I want to be able to do is select…
