Create a dynamic average reference line

- [Instructor] There are two types of reference line, constant and dynamic. Constant is when you want to set a line on an existing chart that is static, it doesn't move, you decide where it goes. The dynamic reference lines, on the other hand, look at the underline data and perform a calculation and then produce the reference line wherever it's appropriate based on that data. This video, we're going to have a look at the dynamic average reference line. Now, all reference lines get drawn onto an existing chart. There are secondary calculation build like table counts. So to build that, first of all, we need to have a chart. So let's just build a simple bar chart. So I'm going to put subcategory on my rows and we'll put sales out onto the column. And actually let's go ahead and add category as well. So I have categories, subcategories, and the sales for each one. Now when we want to add the reference line, we use it from the analytics tab.
