Performing an optimization exercise
- [Instructor] An optimization exercise can provide incredible value when done correctly. If there aren't clear goals, or when completion deadlines aren't set, then exercises often result in little value or can go on indefinitely. For a productive optimization exercise, first, determine the goal. Troubleshooting a recurring single situation, an overall environment performance problem that the database is included in and will be part of a large group of specialists for each tier. How to eliminate resource usage of CPU, memory, I/O, network, or any combination of these. Users are dissatisfied with the performance of the system.
