Assignment: Starting and stopping databases

Assignment: Starting and stopping databases

- Now that we've been navigating our database a little bit, we're going to learn about starting and stopping the databases. First question, can a container database, CDB, be shut down from a pluggable database known as a PDB? Second question, how would you shut down a PDB? Third question, how would you shut down a CDB, the container database? And last question, what are the subsequent steps to starting up an Oracle database? I have a couple of hints callouts. Verify that you are in the right database before performing a change, there's nothing like finding out you're in the wrong one. And then one other hint, there are three steps to bringing a database to an open state from closed. So that's a good hint to answer that question. Go ahead and try this out and I'll see you in the next video walkthrough.
