- [Instructor] Hybrid athletes who can perform at the top level of multiple sports are rare. Chase Budinger is one such rare athlete. He competed in arguably the most competitive professional basketball league, the NBA, from 2009 to 2016. After retiring from the NBA, he transitioned to professional beach volleyball, where he competed on the AVP tour and eventually qualified and competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics. He is the only person to ever compete in both the NBA and beach volleyball Olympics. Like Chase Budinger, analytics engineers are hybrid in nature. If data engineering and data analytics were on a Venn diagram, analytics engineering would fit squarely between the two.
