The cloud service provider must recognize that the use of contractual agreements, such as hosting and connection agreements and SLAs, are used to apportion shared responsibility and risk between both providers and cloud consumers. An SLA outlines the specific responsibilities of the provider and establishes customer expectations. SLAs also explain the support system, for example, Service Desk or Help Desk and the Ticketing or Troubleshooting system in response to problems or outages for an agreed level of service based on the plan. The accountability for the failure of one or more controls and the recognition of risk can properly be documented and understood by all related participants when you're using a service level agreement. The SLA is also referred to as an MSA, a Master of Service Agreement, and the MSA is a contract that two parties enter into during a service transaction.
