These range from general labor and safety regulations to specific quality regulations and standards that certain manufacturers are compelled to follow. Sometimes it is a best practice, sometimes required by law. For cloud security, it's helpful to understand manufacturing regulations and how they affect cloud security. In some instances, they have little to do with security. In others, they are a core part of the process. Let's look at two security concepts in the manufacturing industry, FDA and ISO. FDA or the Food and Drug Administration is a US-based agency created to set standards for developing and providing food and drugs to the public.
