Key security principles are visibility, accountability, traceability, and that relates to data. Modern tools that we use to get visibility and tracing of data would include security information event monitoring systems or SEIM systems. Those are increasingly more and more popular. We also have Data Activity Monitoring, or DAM. One of the distinctives of DAM is that they're cross-platform, so they can work with different types of database services, both structured query language and document or key value pair databases as well.
