- [Narrator] Addressing and subnetting enables the efficient utilization of IP addresses, and thus, the organization of network resources. Thus, this needs to be carefully considered in that they are more difficult to change after deployment of the virtual network in the cloud. Addressing refers to the allocation and management of IP addresses for cloud-based resources. These may include virtual machines, databases, AI servers, and other network components. Cloud providers offer IP address assignment mechanisms. These can include public IP addresses, which are used for externally accessible resources, and private IP addresses, which are utilized for internal communications within the cloud. Subnetting involves dividing a single IP network into multiple smaller networks. These are also called subnets. This is used to logically segment resources within a virtual network.
