- It's been my experience that security is the most important aspect of any cloud project, because unsecured clouds will quickly fail. It's important that you understand the security options, including security models, technologies, and tools. Being proactive is the best defense, so make sure you focus on monitoring and take corrective action when necessary. Cloud security requires that we learn about the very basics, such as being reactive, as well as the more complex. This is where you can be more predictive or spot issues before they become real problems. Use this knowledge to understand the differences between basic layered tools and integrated tools, and how these tools may be proactive and, or, predictive. Using integrated tools will get you to a minimum viable cloud security solution, which is considered good enough. Most enterprises, however, should set the objective of being predictive, and thus more secure. An effective action plan is to deal with the basics first. This…
