- Moving to cloud is your opportunity to look at your technology stack and assess if there is a possibility to modernize your applications. It is also time to assess if you need to migrate the applications as-is to cloud or to replace them with a software-as-a-service version. For example, you may decide to use the SaaS version of Office 365 for scalability and agility instead of using an on-prem version of Office 365 as a result of your apps rationalization exercise. Start by creating an inventory list of all applications and mapping your software portfolio. Next, align these applications with their respective business processes. As you perform this exercise across different business units, you'll want to uncover redundancies and consolidation opportunities.
