- [Instructor] Compute, simply put, is attaching some sort of virtual processor to your cloud system to function as if you have a specific CPU, and memory system that are able to carry out processing. Within a typical cloud platform, we have memory storage and operating systems, such as Linux. How the whole thing functions or is operated. And finally, some type of CPU, or sometimes called a core. The CPU, or a compute platform, based upon public cloud services, such as AWS, Microsoft, or Google, need to have memory, and, most of the time, storage as well. So while you may be able to pick a specific processor, you'll also have to create a total configuration around that processor, because CPUs themselves can't work without input and output to something. This is why when picking a type of CPU, you are also required to pick a memory size, storage type, and sizes and operating system to manage the CPU.
