Hello, everyone, and welcome to Cloud and Virtualization for IT Support Professionals. My name is Jason Gooley, and in this course, we're going to talk about a few things that are important in this day and age. One is which cloud, virtualization, and some different productivity essentials that you're going to need to know to not only help you learn these technologies, but also help you support the users that you're going to be working with as an IT support technician. Some of the things that we're going to cover is some of the virtualization aspects of what cloud gives you. We're going to talk about Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, GCP from Google or Google Cloud Platform, as well as some of the things like virtual machines and hypervisors that give you that virtualization that we were talking about. Now, you're also going to have to understand that you can have virtualization on-prem, meaning in your in your office or your customer's office, as well as in the cloud as well. So you can have virtual devices running in the cloud, and then you have the ability to kind of bridge that where you have some physical devices on-prem, some virtual devices in cloud, more of that what we like to call a hybrid approach. So we're going to talk about that, we're going to talk about some of the different applications that help you from a productivity perspective, like e-mail, chat, file sharing, collaboration tools that will help you exchange data and information and collaborate better like whiteboarding and video applications, and then ultimately understanding how you can use the productivity tools like writing Word documents or Excel spreadsheets or building PowerPoint presentations. All these and more to help you on your journey of becoming an IT support technician. Let's begin.
