Set up a ClickUp account

- [Instructor] To use ClickUp, you first need to set up an account, and there are two ways you might do that. One option is to come straight here to clickup.com, and there's a button here to sign up. The other option is if somebody else invites you to join their ClickUp workspace. Now, first, I think it's a good idea to click the pricing link here on this page, to see the options. Now you can set up and use ClickUp completely for free and you get these core features. So if you plan to use ClickUp by yourself to organize your own projects or if you're working with a small group, the free version may be all you need, but for collaboration across teams in a business or similar organization, you should look through these other tiers. And these prices are listed as per member in your organization. For now, I'm going to set up a free account so we can learn how ClickUp works. Also in this video, we'll see how to set up an account, if you are invited to join somebody's organization, but I'll start by setting up my own account. So starting at the main ClickUp website, I'll click the Sign Up button up in the top right. You'll need to put in your email address, and then you'll need to put in your full name. You'll put in your email address again and set the password that you want. Then, they will email you a verification code. So on another device, I'll look at my email and get that verification code and type it in, and click Verify. So now I have an account, but it's going to make me go through the process of setting up my workspace. Every user must have at least one workspace, so you'll need to go through this. So for now, I'm going to leave the name set to Nick Brazzi's Workspace, and I'll click Next. You may want to upload a picture for your workspace, but I'm just going to skip that and choose a color for the default icon. Then I'll choose the main color theme, and then I'll set how many people I'll be working with in my organization. I'll keep mine fairly small. You can set your type of organization. Then it asks how you found ClickUp, so you can choose that. And then this is an important step. You can invite people to join your workspace. If you plan to use ClickUp by yourself, you don't need to do this, but if this is going to be a collaborative workspace with your teammates, you will need to invite them. Of course, for every team, only one person needs to make the workspace and they will invite everybody else. So if you're the person setting up the workspace, you just need the email address for the people that you're going to invite. You can do that now, or you can do it later. So I'm just going to skip this for now. And we'll come back to this in the video on managing a workspace. You can connect other apps to ClickUp, but for now, I'm going to skip these, and we'll continue. When you're done, you'll see a few introductory messages. I'll skip past those. And then it asks, if you want to choose the simple, intermediate, or advanced interface. For now, I'm just going to click start from scratch, which is another way to choose the simple interface. Then after a few other intro messages, I'm in the ClickUp interface, and I can start working. But there is another scenario. Maybe you're not the person setting up the workspace. Maybe you have been invited by somebody else to join ClickUp. Here in my email, I have an invitation that Lisa sent, inviting me to join her workspace in ClickUp. When you click this link, it will take you to a page where you can sign in if you already have an account, or you can make a new account if you don't already have one. If you do not already have an account and you set one up, it will take you through the same steps that we just saw. The only difference will be that you will not have to create a new workspace when you set up your account, instead, you'll set up your account and you'll join the workspace that you were invited to. So those are your two options for setting up an account.
