- [Instructor] We're now going to examine something called DevSecOps. This is a relatively new term used to describe ways that we implement security principles early on at the start of the development lifecycle. If you're familiar with traditional software development, this invoked a couple of separate teams. We would typically have a developer team and an operations team. Now, in the early days, we used a methodology called the Waterfall Method where all of the software requirements were gathered before the project, and then the development progressed through the design, implementation, verification and maintenance of the application. We now live with what we call the Internet of Things, where all kinds of everyday devices are connected to the internet, including smartphones, all the way to things like light bulbs.
