- [Narrator] Selling digital goods can be a profitable way to make money since your cost of fulfillment, which is getting the goods to the customer, is usually close to zero. A friend of mine recently built this store, which sells research for pharmaceutical companies. They sell very fancy PDFs for 10 to 30 grand. I share this because it's important to realize that customers have different needs, even if they sell the same types of products. When you're selling a $5 PDF, it's not big deal if someone pirates a copy, but if you're selling a PDF for $20,000 and someone pirates it, or you don't know what they're doing and you accidentally make the file public, that's going to cost you a lot of money. So as with everything, the client needs will drastically affect what platform you choose. For digital files, make sure you ask your client, do they need to protect the file, and how?
