It's sometimes hard to understand how our thoughts impact our outcomes. I remind myself often that thoughts become feelings become actions. So if I'm stuck in a negative spiral of thinking, I'm going to start feeling negative and my actions will follow. I work to recognize that, replace intentionally those thoughts with more positive thinking, which turns into positive feelings, which turns into positive action, and then the outcome takes care of itself. One example of a time where thoughts have influenced me is that I recognized one season I was really stuck in a state of comparison in the batter's box. I would step up to the plate and be thinking about what other people might be able to do in this situation instead of focusing on the things that I could control. I decided that when I noticed those moments, I was going to shift my mindset intentionally -- -- have new internal dialogue that was going to help build me up -- -- and the phrase I chose was, “Why not bet on me?” I started…
