- [Instructor] DMAIC stands for define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. DMAIC is an essential part of Six Sigma, which is a well known process improvement methodology. DMAIC is a data-driven approach designed to enhance a business process and has five distinct phases in its cycle. The first DMAIC phase defines what problem to solve. The focus here is collecting customer requirements by first understanding the overall business process and identifying their needs. The next phase is quantitative, and measures the current performance level of the process under review. The data acquired during this phase sets a baseline for improvements. The third phase is dedicated to analyzing the requirements and data obtained from the define and measure steps.
