- [Instructor] So far, we've looked into different analytics methodology options. It's now time to examine software tools that support these methodologies. The features of our interest are statistics, data management, optimization, simulation, and visualization. Among the software applications available in this area are household names like Microsoft Excel and Access. You'll be surprised to know how much you can accomplish with everyday information technology tools like these. Both Excel and Access offer an acceptable set of features in statistics and data management. Excel does a decent job in visualization but Access doesn't. There are tools much better suited for simulation and optimization such as MATLAB. MySQL is another famous tool, but its strength many lies in database management. Due to the rapid growth of big data industries, solutions specializing in handling unstructured big data sets are also coming out.…
