- [Instructor] You've been introduced to System Restore earlier in this course, including how to create a restore point and configure system restore settings. Now let's look at how to use those restore points. Type create a restore point in the search window. This seems counterintuitive, but it's the easiest way to get there. Here's the System Properties window and here are System Restore options. You can see I have protection on the C drive. To use a restore point from the system protection tab, click System Restore. Read the introduction. You can see that reverting to a system restore point does not affect your data and that includes documents and pictures, but a whole lot more. Because of this, it's a safe bet when you're first troubleshooting. Notice it says that recent drivers or software programs may be uninstalled though.
