- I don't know about you, but I love recommendations. It could be for a new doctor, new hair stylist, or even a coffee shop. I'm much more comfortable with change, if it has come recommended by someone I trust. The same is true for potential donors. Americans are more likely to engage with a non-profit if they are invited to do so by a friend, colleague, or family member. Because of this, it is wise to leverage your organization's influencers. They love what you do, have strong social networks, and will introduce you to people with an interest in your cause and the capacity to help. You don't need to look far to find these influencers. They are already close by. These are your beneficiaries, staff, donors, volunteers, program partners, and vendors.
