Syncing a separate audio source
- Sometimes a project will have audio and video recorded on two separate devices. For example, I'm recording this video using my phone but I'm using my field recorder and wireless lavalier to grab the audio. Now, in order to edit these in Camtasia, I first need to sync them on the timeline. And this is a whole lot easier to do if I've created a distinct sync point during recording. I could do this using a clapboard, syncing audio, take one. (snapping) Or, in a pinch, I can just use my hands. Syncing audio, take one. (clapping) Let's take this into Camtasia. Okay, here in the media bin, I've imported my audio file for my field recorder and my video file from my phone. And I need to sync them up on the timeline. I'll start with the video file and I just drag that to the timeline and let's rename this track, "Phone," just so I don't get confused. Now I need to find that clapboard snap here and I can already see it…
