- As project managers, we're taught that we need to identify project requirements to ensure the result is delivered. Leave those product requirements to the business analyst. But we really can't ignore product requirements. Even if you have a BA on the team to take this on you'll need to build in the time for the elicitation, verification and validation of those requirements. It's all part of the project. We understand a couple of things about product requirements. The different types, how they're discovered and the sources from which we can get those requirements. Now to the non-business analyst mind this may seem like more detailed than we need. I get it. But I personally enjoy digging deep into requirements. It makes me feel like I have a firmer grip on the project and more confident that I'll deliver a successful result.
