- So you have your coffee and the approval to start the project. The next step naturally is to look at that business case. This is how we know what the project is all about. Like most things, the quality's going to vary. Not everyone writes a comprehensive business case, but knowing what should be in it will help you inventory what information you do have, and more importantly, what information you don't. Often the business case was created by a joint effort between the business analyst and the key stakeholders who originally proposed the idea. It might be helpful to determine who the authors are so you know who you can ask for clarification. So in the business case, you'll likely see right at the top an executive summary.
