- Now the problem is executives want to make decisions with as little information as possible. Okay, I know that might be an over-simplification, but how many times have you heard that the CFO wants a one-pager? Or maybe just a slide with only three lines? The thing is this type of request trickles down the hierarchy and there isn't much incentive to invest in building a comprehensive business case. And that's why you end up empty-handed. So what do you do if you're charged with a project but you don't have a business case? Well, the onus is on you to locate some information. It's tempting to skip this part.
