- More often than not, we don't have a dedicated BA on the team. I mean, that's also probably why you're here listening to me. Sometimes the PM takes on the BA work, but sometimes, especially if you're using an agile approach, the product owner is assigned to provide the requirements. If you think about it, it kind of makes sense. Product owners are supposed to help identify and prioritize the user stories or requirements for the project. They should also represent the product or functional area which the product supports. This helps the team understand not only the user stories but also the rules and detail. So there's a number of assumptions made regarding the role of the product owner. They understand the current situation and need. They understand the future vision for the product.
