Problem-solving and communication

- Now before we can ask others for help and solutions to our challenges and stay persistent, we first need to manage conversations we have with ourselves. You know, these introspective conversations are often ignored, but are crucial for our growth. You know, we've already taken a moment to identify what we want a year from now, as well as the goal we want for this course. We've also taken a moment to think about our own toolbox. Now it's time to dissect this situation and find the ideal solution. Now, if you were able to take a moment to identify the number one thing limiting you from staying on the road and consistent to the finish line, what would it be? Is it a skillset challenge? Maybe you simply just don't know how to execute the task at hand. In that case, it might be time to consider, you know, taking a course, reaching out to an expert, or similar to what you've done here by taking this course. This skill is important, because when we all set a goal on day one, maybe to get that promotion and prove that relationship, master that skill, or simply, just be a better version of ourselves. We all expect that we will get to where we want to go or intend to go, but when we are on the road, we need to be able to determine as we move forward and things come in our path where there's actually a skillset, mindset or a consistency issue. Well, here's a simple cheat sheet for self-identification. The first one is a skillset question, and this would be is, do I lack the necessary skills or knowledge to perform this task? The signs are usually, it might be uncertainty about how to complete a task or a lack of technical knowledge or struggling with specific competencies. You feel confident in taking an action, but you might just get lost which action you should take. So here's some actions you can take. You can seek training, get mentorship or look for educational content to fill the skills gap, like this course here. Or you can use online courses, workshops, or instructional videos. Now, let's go to mindset question. Things you can consider is, am I experiencing self-doubt, fear of failure, or a lack of motivation? Some most common signs are negative self-talk, hesitating on starting or continuing tasks, feeling a bit overwhelmed. Some actions you can take is develop a growth mindset, practice positive self-talk, engage in, (breathes deeply) relaxing breathing, and visualization techniques, or even seeking support from a coach or a therapist. Some helpful tools is mindful apps like Headspace or Calm or motivational podcasts and books. And the third is activation questions. Do I struggle to maintain routines or follow through with actions? Common signs might be inconsistent effort, missed deadlines, lack of progress. You crush it one day and then the next day you're like falling flat. Some actions might be to implement time managing strategies, set up accountability systems, create daily action habits. Some great tools for this are use planners, habit checking apps like LeadLift or Accountability Partners. And understanding and identifying these challenges is the first step in developing grit and persistence.
