- Think back to the last time you were captivated by a video game or puzzle. Time just seemed to fly by, right? Games are a powerful way to maintain intention. They're designed to capture our minds and hold our focus, and we can use games and gamify tasks to build attentional skills. Let's talk about two different approaches that make use of games and gamification. Firstly, you can play games that are designed specifically to build your focus. For example, pattern recognition games like Sudoku will train your brain to maintain focus while looking for specific details. Reaction time games, like Simon Says, will improve your processing speed and alertness. Memory games like crossword puzzles will enhance your ability to hold and manipulate information, and strategy games like chess will help you develop sustained attention and planning skills.
