- Do you listen to voice notes or podcasts at double speed? We're told that this is a more efficient way of working. In today's world, everything is faster. Movie scenes are dramatically quicker than they were a few decades ago. We talk faster, we even walk faster. And all of this has an impact on our behavior. Now, efficiency is great and listening to the occasional podcast at double speed can help us save time. Working faster for shorter periods or sprints is useful, but in the long run it leads to exhaustion and burnout. So instead, let's look at slowing down. We talked about mindfulness as a tool to help us strengthen our prefrontal cortex in the last video. So let's build on this by doing a really simple practice enabling us to have a brief pause to recharge. Let's try an evidence-based practice. LSD, light, slow, and deep breathing.
