- Have you ever built something from IKEA, or a similar store where you build your own furniture. When building that, have you possibly uttered a swear word? There's a study called the IKEA effect which shows when we build something, we are more likely to enjoy using it. The same is true of our habits. When we diagnose and understand them, it's more likely we will change. I could suggest you look at your email or your social media usage but that might not be where you spend your time and it's more likely your new habits will stick if they're based on your specific behavior. Hopefully the last video illustrated to you part of the why we need to upgrade our digital habits and a sense of the stress on our resources. Checking our emails whilst on a video call is fine in small doses but in the long run it can rewire our brain leading to lower performance and poorer wellbeing.
