- Have you ever had a New Year's resolution to do more sports, cut out junk food, or maybe reduce screen time? Did you succeed? Typically, our resolutions fail because we don't have a good way to accomplish the goal. It's a nice idea, but we don't have a practical way to achieve it. We need a system in place to truly change our digital habits. An effective way to do this is to start with smart goals, which you may have heard of before, and then make them smarter. Let's break this down. So let's start with the smart goal itself. Be specific. What exactly are you looking to achieve? For example, I'd like to check my emails less at the weekend. Then, we need to make it measurable, so decide on a metric that will help you with this. The screen time tools that are built into our phones make this really easy, so I can use those to measure how much I'm using my email app at the weekends. Then, question whether this goal…
