What to have before starting to build your ecommerce website
- Before you dive into building your e-commerce website with WordPress, you should already have a few things in place or collected. You can collect these things as you go but you'll have a much smoother and consistent experience if you do some of this work upfront. You can very much still benefit from the course if you don't have these things, since the knowledge will apply no matter what. First is branding. Your site will need a logo, consistent color scheme, and fonts. I always recommend connecting with a designer to create these things as they'll have knowledge about how to make these things work in your favor. Next, you should understand the product types that you'll be selling or the reasons you'll be taking money. Are you selling physical goods, virtual goods, or services? You could sell all of these things on one website if you want to. Are you taking tips or donations? Is this a membership or a subscription?…
