- [Instructor] A 404 page is a screen that someone will get if they're trying to go to a page on your domain that does not exist. Try it out. Go to a website you love and then add slash and some random letters after the URL at the top of the browser window. You'll see either an automatically-generated page or a custom one like we have on LinkedIn site. Shops should really always have a custom one. These pages are incredibly important because if someone gets lost and doesn't immediately know where to go, chances are they're going to leave the site entirely. Some customers may assume that the entire website is broken. It's easy for users to get frustrated, and losing them in the buyer's journey could mean losing them forever. Let's look at some examples of some 404 pages. Target is one of my favorite stores, but their 404 page could stand to be improved. This is really all it looks like. I would want to see more…
