- [Instructor] When it comes to privacy, security, and customer transparency, the conversation on the regulatory side is often about empowering customers. For far too long, it has been believed and it has been true that companies that collect customer data have a lot of power. And that's because they have the data, the ability to join that data to other data, and comprehend more about the customers than the customers themselves may appreciate at times. In theory, the principle was that while using this data, companies could offer capabilities and products to their customers for free or very low cost, and at the same time, make sure that those offerings were personalized for that customer, win-win, right?
