- [Instructor] For many companies, if not all, data sharing is key for business growth, but can also lead to privacy risks. A key challenge for your program would be to build privacy controls, so that's to share data as efficiently and safely as possible. I've seen many companies cause unnecessary friction that slows down legitimate sharing of data. When that happens, your creative engineers will find ways to work around and share data anyways, which defeats the purpose of having those controls to begin with. I would know because I used to be one of those engineers. There are, of course, risks inherent to data sharing, but there are some that stand out for me. First, once data actually leaves your company, you can exert very little, if any, control over what happens to that data.
