- The reporting phase is kind of like battling the final boss in a video game. You need to gather everything you've learned throughout the entire game, all the hidden treasures and unlocked skills, and show them what you got. In an audit, the report is where you get to document everything that you've discovered during the audit that's important, the good and the bad, all the issues that need to be fixed, and all the recommendations you have to make things better. But the audit report shouldn't be a boring document. It should be a presentation, something that tells a story and is easy to understand. A good way to present your information with a data-driven approach is to include data visualizations. Data visualizations are great at presenting substantial amounts of information in a graphic format, which is easy to consume.
