- I think we can all agree that using a data-driven approach to auditing is the winner, but with every new process or technology, there are always things that you need to consider before, during, and after implementation. First off, you're likely to encounter some resistance to change. This is very common, but not something that should prevent you from making the change. The benefits of using a data-driven approach to help with your audit procedures significantly outweigh the drawbacks. Not only does a data-driven approach help with conducting the audit itself, you're also able to strengthen your relationships with key stakeholders, which is critical for the internal audit function's success and influence to the organization. Once everyone is on board to make this change, there will be a bit of a learning curve up front.
