- [Instructor] Developing the plan is one of the heavier lifts when it comes to creating a security awareness program, so let's talk about what you should consider when creating a budget that will be needed to get your program off the ground. Your budget will be necessary to present to leadership so you know just how much to ask for, and more importantly, explain why you need it. As you start to build your program and come up with different ideas, there may be some costs involved. Meet with your leadership and get an understanding of the overall security budget, or if you report up through another team other than security, their current budget. Once you are able to see where budget is allocated, you will have a better understanding of what other programs and groups are being assigned and what is realistic in terms of your ask.
