OpenClaw isn't something that everyone should be installing on their machine. As a matter of fact, I would recommend that unless you're extremely technical and you know what you're doing in the terminal with Docker containers and routinely understand how to use VPS and API keys, you should keep away from this, no matter how exciting it seems. It's just about the most dangerous thing that you could be running on your own machine. The problem is that it behaves like a highly privileged automation layer on your workstation. And to make it truly useful, it has to have access to many things that no sane person would ever give anyone access to. You should never run this on a work machine at your office without express permission from your security team. And you should also never run this on your own working machine. Try to run it on a protected VPS server or on a third-party machine. Thousands of open cloud instances have been found exposed online, leaking authentication passwords, logs…
